A composition

I read a really cute composition that was written by 7 year old boy in a newspaper. And I translated it into English.

I have homework during this summer vacation. It's to memorize the short story. So I'm going to memorize the story about dinosaurs. I want to be a researcher of the dinosaurs.

My first book that was bought by my mom was naturally a picture book about the dinosaurs. Maybe I think there aren't any dinosaurs in this world now.

Nobody - my dad, mom, and my school teacher know about the dinosaurs very well. So I respect the authorities on it.

I'm excited when I think about the dinosaurs, a long long time ago, what kind of dinosaurs lived on the earth, how they lived, and why they became extinct.

Though I know a lot of kinds of dinosaurs'  their sizes and characteristics, I don't know if they lived in Ishigaki Island where I live.

But there are many types of birds. Especially the bird of Ishigaki, crested serpent eagle flies in a grand manner in the vast of nature on Ishigaki Island. When I see birds, they don't seem like birds. I feel they're like dinosaurs.

'They may be flying to survive.' When I think so, I also wanted to fly in the sky.

'Mom, I want to fly in the sky.'

'Do you want to fly ?  You mean you want to take an airplane ? '

'No, the airplane is not enough. I want to feel the sky with my eyes, nose, ears and all my body.'

'OK, if you say so, this is it. A paraglider.'

I flew a paraglider to know dinosaur's feelings during this summer vacation.

'I'm so excited'

'Let's go ! Let's fly ! ' 
'Wow, amazing ! Great. This is my sky. Oh the sea is emerald green.'

I flew, and saw some living things on the land.

And I felt the sea and mountains with my nose, heard the sounds of nature with my ears, and thought dinosaur's feeling with my heart.

'How was the sky ?'

'It was great. I monopolized the sky of Ishigaki Island. I searched for the dinosaurs hiding somewhere. I found a turtle.' 

'Good, you could be a dinosaur.'

'Thank you, dad. Thank you, mom.'

I flew in the sky, and decided to definitely be a reseacher of dinosaurs.

Though I'm still 7 years old, a little close-cropped boy, I'll do my best to do my dream work about the dinosaurs.

So I'll memorize my homework that I should do now, and I want to realize my dream.
